Covid 19 Vaccination Policy

Covid 19 Vaccination Policy

FOR OUR STAFF

In accordance with the Victorian Government Roadmap, all staff working in healthcare settings with face-to-face patient or client contact must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and influenza. At Suction Ears, all our staff, including administrative team members, are compliant with this vaccination policy.

FOR OUR CLIENTS

As of June 1, 2022, Suction Ears will no longer request clients’ vaccination status. Mask-wearing in healthcare settings is now optional for individuals aged 8 years and above.

Mask Exemptions If you have a mask exemption, please inform our team when completing the COVID-19 screening questionnaire. This allows us to minimize contact with other clients and staff and helps us ensure your safety. If you need to remove your mask due to communication issues, please keep it on in the waiting room and other communal areas.

Children Under 8 Children under 8 must have a COVID-19 screening questionnaire completed by a parent or guardian. Masks are optional. Appointments for children with cold symptoms may need to be rescheduled. Children under 2 are not required to wear masks.

COVID-19 Screening Before your appointment, Suction Ears will provide a COVID-19 screening questionnaire. For clients under 16 or those requiring a support person, the questionnaire can be completed by a guardian, parent, or support person, who will also need to answer for themselves.

Appointments may need to be rescheduled if:

  • You have experienced cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 7 days
  • You tested positive for COVID-19 (RAT or PCR) in the last 7 days
  • You are a recent close contact as defined by the State Government
  • You have returned from overseas in the last 7 days (interstate travel restrictions no longer apply)

OTHER MEASURES

Suction Ears provides all staff with Personal Protective Equipment. Chairs, surfaces, and equipment are cleaned between each client.

RIGHT TO REFUSE TREATMENT

Suction Ears respects your right to make personal health decisions and requests that clients respect our right to take necessary actions to protect both staff and other clients. Our staff are authorized to refuse treatment if conditions are not met or if you exhibit symptoms suggestive of active COVID-19 infection on the day of treatment.
